Musical forest

What a fantastic commercial! At first it seems just like a YouTube video, some guys who went into the forest and are creating this xylophone for fun. And to be honest I thought it was just a YouTube video until the very end when they show the cell phone. And because it uses music notes instead of words, it can be understood by all languages, another bonus for them. Great commercial, only negative is that it is a little long. I don't know how it would work for tv or if it's soley for YouTube. Any thoughts on international commercials?

  1. I can't believe the length of this xylophone! It is definitely a creative and tastefully executed advertisement.

  2. This commercial is very interesting, but nevertheless great. I am starting to get a glimpse of international advertising and they all have a different interpretation to each individual. Good video, but what country is this video primarily intended to be presented in?

  3. Yes, very creative commercial. The advertiser is NTT Docomo in Japan. And I assume it's intended for the Japanese market. The commercial is too long for traditional TV advertising. Other advertisers such as Honda have created ads that are several minutes long too. The question is what keeps the viewer to watch the commercial till the end. Is it the domino effect or maybe the classical music of Bach's Cantata 147?

  4. Commercials like this are also useful for online television ads for services such as Hulu. Often times users have the option of watching :30-1 min long clips at normal commercials breaks or watching a long 2-3 min commercial and then watching their show uninterrupted. This would work well in a forum like that
